Look at this damage: Car crashes into New Baltimore auto parts store

Driver goes off 23 Mile Road into Richards Auto Parts

NEW BALTIMORE, Mich. – A New Baltimore auto parts store is in shambles after a driver crashed through it Tuesday night.

A 21-year-old Macomb Township woman was driving a Dodge Charger westbound on 23 Mile road when she went off the roadway and into Richards Auto Parts, which is just before Main Street, police said.

The driver suffered minor injuries. Police said they are waiting results of a blood alcohol test.

The store's owner, Richard Simon, said the family business has been in operation since 1993.

“The building structure is the main thing. I don’t know what’s going to happen with that. We’re just going to try to get it cleared enough to where we can operate," he said.
