DETROIT – David Kindell's family says they're lost without him.
“We need to know where he’s at, what he’s doing, if he’s alive or dead,” said Kindall’s aunt, Deborah Skinner.
Kindell was 17 when he went missing March 14, 2015. He was last seen near his grandmother's home at Rosemary and Hayes streets.
“A person don’t just disappear. They don’t just vanish into thin air. It’s like, someone, somewhere, knows something," said another aunt, Joy Bradley.
His aunts promised to take care of him after his parents both died of cancer, and have spent more than a year working with police.
“We have our community response teams, we have our academy members, we have our detectives, we have everyone that we have possible to help work on the efforts to help find David’s whereabouts," said Detroit police Capt. Kyra Joy Hope.
On Thursday, police cadets went door-to-door near Outer Drive and 7 Mile Road to pass out fliers.
Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-SPEAKUP. There is a reward, which is increased by $1,000 if the tip leads police to Kindell by midnight Thursday.
