METRO DETROIT – Crime Stoppers is holding its first annual Time To Fight Crime Auction from Sunday to Saturday, Nov. 21. The nonprofit is asking residents to donate or bid on items to help support Crime Stoppers' efforts to create safer neighborhoods across Metro Detroit. It empowers people to take an active role in reducing crime by implementing grassroots programming, publicizing crimes and providing an anonymous tip-line. 8 years after Detroit mother vanished, family wants answers
DETROIT Tamala Wells, a Detroit mother of two, was last seen Aug. 6, 2012. Since that day, her mother has never stopped working to get answers. Officials search for driver of SUV that struck bicyclist on Michigan Avenue
DETROIT – Police are searching for the driver of an SUV that struck a bicyclist on Michigan Avenue. A man was riding his bicycle on Michigan Avenue when he was hit by a gray GMC suburban, according to authorities. Police said the SUV pulled into a gas station after the collision. The driver got out to look at the scene and then fled, officials said. Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case.
$2,500 reward offered for information in murder of 21-year-old man in Detroit
DETROIT – Officials are offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case of a 21-year-old man who was murdered on Detroit’s west side. Wanyia Anderson, 21, was killed around 4:35 a.m. Monday in the area of Puritan and Indiana avenues, according to authorities. Reward offered for information about fatal 2011 Detroit shooting
DETROIT – On the anniversary of her son’s homicide, a mother is still searching for answers. Darrell Smith was shot and killed July 12, 2011 on Detroit’s west side. Smith was standing with a female near his car at Plymouth Road and Longacre Street, near the Southfield Freeway, at 10 p.m., when two people walked up and began shooting. Family pleads again for public's help to find missing mother
DETROIT – Detroit police and groups of volunteers canvassed a Detroit neighborhood on Thursday looking for a mother who has been missing for more than three years. Tamala Wells, a mother of two, was last seen Aug. 6, 2012, when she left her home on Appleton near Telegraph in her Pontiac Grand Prix. Her mother, Donna Wells-Davis, said her family is still looking for closure and hopes anyone who knows what happened will speak up. If she's out there I wanna say, 'I love you and your mother is a die hard. One day I'm going to find you and I'm never going to stop,’” Wells-Davis said.
