2 dead after Pontiac apartment fire
PONTIAC, Mich. – 2 people are dead after a fire at the Woodland Heights apartments on Edith Road in Pontiac.
Fire investigators tell Local 4 the fire started around 1:30 a.m. inside of a resident's unit on the second floor of a building.
The resident who lived inside the apartment where the fire originated was taken to the hospital, where he died.
A man in another apartment also died, police said.
Five other residents were transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
