Women's March on Lansing kicks off on state capitol steps

LANSING, Mich. – At least a thousand people gathered outside of the State Capitol for what organizers called the Women's March on Lansing.

Speakers addressed the partisan, anti-President Donald Trump crowd, which carried a sea of protest signs with sayings like, "Fight like a girl" and, "High five for feminism."

The March spilled into North Capitol Avenue outside of the capitol building.

Spirits were high on the warm, overcast January day. Many people brought children, and the overall feel was peaceful.
