LIVONIA, Mich. – A 23-year-old Detroit man is charged with five counts of second degree home invasion after a string of crimes in Livonia and Redford Township.
Deonte Dequan King was arrested last week after, police said, he shoveled the walk of a house in the 27000 block of Barkley Street before he forced his way inside by breaking out a rear window. Police said they had been trailing King as a person of interest in other home invasions.

From police:
Livonia police began an investigation after King was identified as a person of interest in Home Invasions dating back to November of 2016 after a Livonia resident provided police with home security footage of a possible suspect vehicle involved in the burglary of a neighbor’s home.
Another neighbor provided police with a suspect description after observing him shoveling snow in the area. King was arrested last Wednesday after shoveling the walk of a house in the 27000 block of Barkley Street and then forcing entry into the home by breaking out the rear window.
King was arraigned on the charges Feb. 3 and is being held on a $1 million bond. He is scheduled to be back in court Feb. 16 for a probable cause conference.
