Documentary about Capuchin friar's work in Panama to hold Detroit premiere June 11

'From Mass to the Mountain' features Father Wally Kasuboski

A special screening of "From Mass to the Mountain," a documentary featuring the work of Father Wally Kasuboski in Panama, will be held June 11 from 2-4 p.m. at AMC Star Southfield 20, 25333 W. 12 Mile Road, Southfield, MI.

The internationally acclaimed film, directed by Kurt Sensenbrenner and Colin Sytsma, takes you to eastern Panama, where decades of government corruption and neglect have impoverished the region. But thanks to the tireless efforts of Kasuboski, a Capuchin friar, to build infrastructure, protect watersheds, and conserve the rainforest, life is looking up for the locals. Father Wally (Padre Pablo) was named Panama's Hero in 2016.

The directors and Father Wally will be available for a Q&A after the screening. It has been shown at many film festivals and the showing is usually sold out.

Tickets are $10 in advance for reserved seating. Buy them here. If not sold out, tickets will be available at the door.
