Speedboats crash during race

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. – A man was killed when two boats collided during the St. Clair Riverfest Sunday afternoon, officials said.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Department and the U.S. Coast Guards said during the powerboat race two speedboats crashed during a turn just north of the city of St. Clair.

Officials said each boat had two operators. Both operators suffered injuries on one boat and were taken to St. Johns Hospital.

A 55-year-old man died at the hospital and the other suffered minor injuries, officials said.
