OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald has charged West Bloomfield Township Trustee Jibran Manna, 65, with allegedly placing hidden surveillance cameras in the bedrooms and bathrooms of two women.
Manna faces two counts of capturing an image of an unclothed person and five counts of installing a device for eavesdropping, according to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.
The two women allegedly discovered surveillance cameras hidden inside smoke detectors in their bedrooms.
During a search of Manna’s home, office, and cellphone, officers recovered additional cameras, prosecutors said.
Investigators also found nude surveillance videos from the victims’ bedrooms and bathrooms on Manna’s cellphone, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Capturing an image of an unclothed person is punishable by up to five years in prison.
Installing a device for eavesdropping carries a maximum penalty of two years in prison.
