Man robbed store on Cherry Hill Road near Inkster Road

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – A reward is being offered for information about a man who robbed a Dearborn Heights 7-Eleven store Thursday.

Police said the man went into the store on Cherry Hill Road near Inkster Road at 2:45 a.m. and attempted to rob the clerk with a knife, but the clerk was able to fight him off. The man returned at 4:40 a.m. with a gun, police said.

The man fired one shot at the clerk. When the clerk fled the store, the man attempted to access the cash register before leaving the store with several bottles of liquor.

The gunman is described as a white, in his early 20s or maybe late teens. He had a ponytail and was wearing a baseball cap.

He had a silver and black .40-caliber handgun with an extended magazine, police said.

A cash reward up to $1,000 is being offered by Crime Stoppers.
