GRAND TRAVERSE, Mich. – A 25-year-old Michigan man is facing 14 charges after being arrested on Thursday for having more than 100,000 files of child porn.
Daniel Alexander Smith of Grawn, Michigan, was arrested by Michigan State Police last week on child pornography charges.

“This case there was a significant amount of child pornography and it's good to get him off the streets,” Detective Sergeant Wesley Smith told WPBN.

WPBN reports police suspect Smith was using BitTorrent to distribute child porn files.
“It was an undercover investigation to where we determined that there was child pornography or child sexually abusive material being trafficked from a certain IP address we tracked back to the Grawn, Michigan area,” the detective told WPBN.
According to WPBN, the Internet Crimes Against Children task force detectives suspect Smith had more than 123,000 files of child sexually abusive material for sharing on BitTorrent.
Smith was charged with two counts of child sexually abusive activity, 10 counts of possession of child porn and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime. He faces up to 18 years in jail.
