North Carolina AMBER ALERT: Police, FBI search for missing 3-year-old Mariah Kay Woods

AMBER ALERT issued Monday for missing 3-year-old girl

JACKSONVILLE, NC. – An AMBER ALERT was issued Monday in Jacksonville, North Carolina for a missing three-year-old girl who vanished in the middle of the night.

WRAL reports three-year-old Mariah Kay Woods went missing overnight on Sunday. Mariah's mother, Kristy, told police she put the child to bed Sunday night and called police around 6 a.m. on Monday to report her missing.

Mariah is white, about 2 feet, 9 inches tall, weighs about 30 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

She was last seen by her mother at about 22 p.m. Sunday and her boyfriend last saw the child around midnight, when she woke up and was told to return to bed.

"If anybody knows where she is at or any information, just please call the sheriff's department or notify anybody," Kristy Woods said.

"She could be anywhere. She is very sweet loving girl. Long brown hair, blue eyes. Goes by Mariah. She has walking difficulties, so please, if anybody sees her. She is 3 years old. Please notify them,” Woods said.

The FBI joined the search for Mariah on Tuesday.
