Supreme Court to hear arguments on wedding cake controversy

Cakeshop refused baking cake for same-sex couple

LAKEWOOD, Colorado – The Supreme Court is set to hear arguments in the Masterpiece Cakeshop case.

Justices are expected to rule on whether a cake shop in Colorado can refuse to bake a wedding cake for a same sex couple.

It's the case of Masterpiece Cakeshop versus Colorado Civil Rights Commission.

The owner of the cake shop has argued that same sex marriage violates his religious views. However, a Colorado state court ruled against him in 2015.

The engaged couple sued on the grounds of discrimination.
