Kim DeGiulio:Ā To say my body is sore today would be an understatement. Iāve been training for the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon and yesterday I ran 6.5 miles! Iām hoping to at least get to 10 miles for my training before the race in October. Iām not that competitive when it comes to running half marathons. Iām more of the āif I finish without dying then Iāll be proud of myselfā type of person. I ran this same half marathon back in 2016 and I didnāt die then but I sure did feel like I was going to toward the end. Shortly after the race though, I felt amazing and was so proud of myself. Thatās why I decided I wanted to run it again.
This warm weather has been perfect for my training. Not everybody likes running in hot weather but itās what I prefer. I usually try to do it later in the evening when the sun isnāt too strong. Of course Iām still drinking tons of water to hydrate! With Brandonās future forecast it looks like thereās going to be plenty of hot days for me to continue my training. Iāll just have to pay close attention so I donāt get caught in the rain! See you in the morning!Ā
