DETROIT – The Detroit Pistons have completed their move to Detroit and their new home is a brand-new state-of-the-art performance facility near Little Caesars Arena.
The Pistons will work out, train and interact with the community at the new facility. The new Henry Ford Pistons Performance Center is officially open but players won't begin to use it until Tuesday.
The facility is 185,000 square feet and worth $90 million. Owner Tom Gores said it is bigger than basketball. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan appreciates the team moving downtown and bringing jobs with it.
It will be the first NBA practice facility to introduce publicly accessible food with the soon to open Plum Market. Blink Fitness will also open a location there.
