Bacteria might have contaminated the water system during the water main break, according to authorities.

Crews are working to correct the situation.

Repairs are expected to be completed by 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Water workers will flush and collect bacteriological samples from around the system, starting at 7 a.m. Thursday.

Residents will be alerted when the boil water alert has been lifted. Until then, they should boil all water for one minute and let it cool before using.
