ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – A 28-year-old man from Eastpointe was shot at Friday in Rochester Hills while delivering packages for Amazon.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the delivery driver told police a red Dodge Dart with black stripes was following him and when he attempted to lose the car by turning onto Runyon Road, the Dodge pulled alongside him. Police said the man claimed the driver and passenger of the Dodge both brandished weapons and fired at him when he drove away.

Police said they found three bullet holes in the trunk of the man’s car. One bullet, police said, passed through the trunk, through the rear passenger seat and into the driver’s seat, narrowly missing the victim.

The delivery driver was not injured.

Police described the gunmen as two white men wearing black hooded sweatshirts.

A bullet was recovered from the bumper of the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 cash reward for information regarding the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. The tipster will remain anonymous.
