Lockdown lifted at Birmingham Groves High School after police situation

Situation ends peacefully when police make contact with person

BEVERLY HILLS, Mich. – Birmingham Groves High School was briefly put on lockdown Monday after police were called for a situation involving a non-student on the baseball field.

The school, which is off 13 Mile Road in Beverly Hills, was put on lockdown from about 11 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

The district is not releasing the person's name, but did say the person was outside the school with a gun and threatening suicide. The situation ended peacefully. 

No students were injured. 

No other details are available at this time.
