Inkster man calls court clerk, threatens to shoot, kill multiple people, police say

INKSTER, Mich. – An Inkster man has been charged after he called a court clerk and threatened to shoot and kill multiple people, officials said.

Courtney Seegars, 35, of Inkster, made the call at 10:44 a.m. Monday (May 16) to the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center, according to authorities.

After the threat was made, investigators with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office worked with the FBI to identify Seegars as the caller.

He was arrested Thursday and charged with one count of false report of terrorism and one count of malicious use of a telecommunications device.

Seegars was arraigned Thursday morning at 36th District Court and given a $10,000 personal bond.

A probable cause conference is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. May 26, and a preliminary examination is scheduled for 8:45 a.m. June 2.
