The automaker is looking to hire sub-assemblers at a starting rate of $15 per hour.

GM says the Brownstown plant plays a key role in its Cruise autonomous vehicle program and produces roof modules for all of Cruise’s self-driving vehicles. The plant also produces lithium-ion battery packs for the GMC Hummer EV and Cadillac LYRIQ.
