First Black chief of neurosurgery at Children’s Hospital of Michigan paves the way for others
DETROIT – She spent her career breaking glass ceilings, but Dr. Alexa Canady didn’t realize the impact she had for a while as the first Black chief of Neurosurgery at Children’s Hospital of Michigan. And I realized that it changed their perception of what was possible for them and that is really the most important part,” said Dr. Canady. Canady spent her career caring for chronically ill children. Her longtime colleague Dr. Neena Marupudi, a pediatric neurosurgeon, says Dr. Canady had an undeniable impact on patient care. And decades before the pandemic Dr. Canady was paving the way for every Black and brown doctor who came after her.

After 3,750+ Professional and Olympic hockey games, 100 different verbs used to describe a pass or shot, and 22 Stanley Cup Finals, the legendary Mike "Doc" Emrick has announced his retirement from broadcasting. RESPONSIBILITIES:The Assistant Director of Technology will be an active hands-on manager working directly with the Director of Technology in overseeing a group of diverse Broadcast Engineers and IT professionals. The overall responsibilities will include advance IT operations, new digital technology, broadcast maintenance, broadcast operations, and assisting in strategic planning of the stations Broadcast Engineering & Operations, IT and Digital groups. A minimum of five-years experience as an IT / Broadcast Maintenance Technician in a broadcast facility and a demonstrated leadership role in the Information Technology and Broadcast/Digital Media industry. UHF Transmitter site management experience and experience in supporting a live news operation technical environment.
