Michigan winter storm: Final snow predictions for each region thru Saturday

A winter storm is expected to bring several inches of snow -- more than a foot in some parts - to Michigan starting on Friday.

Dozens of Michigan counties are under winter storm warnings, and most others are under a winter storm watch or winter weather advisory. Basically, everyone is getting something.

Power outages possible amid winter storm in Metro Detroit: Here’s why

A winter storm is taking aim at Michigan this weekend. The Metro Detroit region is expecting to receive its first significant snow of the season, in addition to some gusty winds and icy temperatures.

Much of the precipitation taking place between Friday, Jan. 12 and Sunday, Jan 14 will be in the form of snow, but some rain is also expected to fall. Following the initial round of snowfall, temperatures will plummet.

This weekend’s conditions could put SE Michigan at risk of some power outages.
