Amber Alert canceled after missing Detroit girl found safe; Police still searching for suspect

Missing child believed to be inside stolen vehicle

DETROIT – The Amber Alert for a missing 3-year-old Detroit girl was canceled after she was found safe.

The alert was issued just before 2:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024. The girl was believed to be inside a vehicle that had been stolen from Detroit.

At 7:17 a.m., Michigan State Police posted on X, formerly Twitter, that the Amber Alert had been canceled and that the child had been found safe. Because the child was found safe, all identifying information has been removed from this story.

Detroit police said the investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the organized crime division. The suspect shown in the photo above is still wanted by police.
