Troopers said they were notified of the vehicle being involved in drag racing on the city’s east side.

Officials said they attempted to stop the vehicle near westbound I-96 and Joy Road, where the driver fled.

Troopers said they followed the vehicle until it pulled into a garage, where they arrested the 20-year-old man from Detroit.

“As the weather gets warmer, we start to see reckless driving pick up,” said F/Lt Mike Shaw. “We are continuing to work with our local partners to make sure those drivers who put our community at risk are located and held accountable.”
