Home renovations aim to revitalize neighborhoods on Detroit’s west side

DETROIT – Uplifting Detroit neighborhoods one home at a time is the mission of one man going door to door on the city’s west side to renovate homes that have fallen into disrepair.

Malcolm Garrett, the man behind this mission, sees immense potential in the neighborhood at Meyers and Schoolcraft roads and believes in its bright future.

Garrett owns Big Ugly’s Home Improvements and works with a team of ex-offenders.

They use the work as an avenue to help others while also turning around their lives.
