Motorcyclist killed in Warren after weaving through traffic, hitting pickup, police say

Police investigate crash on 12 Mile Road

WARREN, Mich. – A motorcyclist died after weaving in and out of traffic and crashing into a pickup truck in Warren, police said.

The crash happened around 7:35 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, on 12 Mile Road, near Imperial Drive.

Officials said a man was driving a motorcycle west on 12 Mile Road at a high speed and weaving in and out of traffic. He ultimately crashed into a Chevrolet pickup truck, police said.

Witnesses began to provide first aid and perform CPR on the motorcyclist until authorities arrived. He was taken to a nearby hospital and later died from his injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured. Police said he is cooperating with investigators, and neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been factors.

Officials shut down 12 Mile Road for several hours for the investigation. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
