The Detroit Grand Prix Association (DGPA) hopes to recruit approximately 900 new members to join the more than 600 who have already renewed their membership for the 2025 Chevy Grand Prix.

With several new volunteer areas in place for 2025 and other existing departments set to expand this year, the DGPA is looking to recruit event ambassadors to work at this summer’s Grand Prix.

In 2024, the DGPA reached its goal and an all-time high of 1,500 members as the hard-working volunteer corps helped produce a positive and memorable experience for Grand Prix guests.

With another three-day weekend filled with on-track action and activities off the track in downtown Detroit, the 2025 Grand Prix targets the same number of volunteers for this summer’s event.

The DGPA is recruiting volunteers from various departments for this summer’s event, including Circuit Marshals, Information Services, Guest Navigators, Food Services, Hospitality Services, and Ticket Services.

The new volunteer department said they’ll assist guests with seating issues, ensure proper ticket entry at admission gates, and provide directions.

For those new to the DGPA in 2025, first-year members are welcome to join the organization’s Volunteer Resource Pool. This department will offer various volunteer experiences at the Grand Prix by assisting multiple departments throughout the event.

New members can also commit to one full day of volunteering or work two half-day shifts leading up to and during Grand Prix weekend.

Individuals must pay an annual membership fee of $20 to become a member.

The fee helps cover the organization’s expenses associated with various volunteer benefits, including a membership patch, a commemorative lapel pin, a certificate of appreciation, and access to exclusive DGPA social events, including the annual Volunteer Kickoff Party hosted in the spring.

In addition, Grand Prix volunteers receive an event credential that grants them access to the venue throughout the race weekend, official uniform shirts and hats, free parking for the event, meals provided each day of the race weekend, and an invitation to the Volunteer Appreciation Party hosted after the Grand Prix each year.

In 2024, the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear drew impressive crowds with sold-out grandstands on Sunday for the second consecutive year.

Free access to more than half of the venue throughout the weekend helped attract approximately 150,000 people to downtown Detroit, matching the attendance from 2023.

Nearly 1,500 volunteers helped ensure a smooth and successful event. The Grand Prix shined a positive light on Detroit, connecting the surrounding communities across the city and generating millions of dollars in economic benefit for the region.

The 35th Grand Prix event in the city’s history will return to the 1.7-mile, nine-turn streets of the downtown Detroit circuit, which runs along the award-winning Detroit Riverwalk, from May 30 to June 1, 2025.

With new viewing options and entertainment packages, fans can purchase tickets here or through the event’s ticket hotline at 888-811-PRIX (7749).
