2-8 inches of snow coming to Metro Detroit: Here’s where we’ll see the most

DETROIT – A Winter Storm Watch for heavy snow is in effect for all of Southeast Michigan from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday morning.

Snow showers move in Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 12, and they are expected to intensify significantly as we enter the evening.

Heavy snow will continue overnight and into Thursday, Feb. 13, but it should taper down before daybreak. The heavy snowfall should dwindle down at about 4 a.m.

Current models suggest Southeast Michigan will see between 2-8 inches of snow, with the highest accumulation in the Thumb. Metro Detroit is expected to see 3-6″ inches.

Southern areas near the Ohio border might also see a wintry mix close to midnight, resulting in possible ice accumulation.
