Judge to announce trial decision in Edenville Dam case Dam failed in 2020, flooding nearby homes
MIDLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A judge is expected to make a decision on the case of the Edenville Dam disaster.
Update: Edenville Dam disaster: Judge allows lawsuits against state to move forward
The judge will announce on Monday, May 12, 2025, whether this case will move forward to trial.
The dam failed in May 2020, causing many nearby residents to evacuate their homes.

Prosecutors said the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy knew the dam was not structurally sound or safe but continued to fill the dam anyway.
