DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. – A Detroit man has been charged with non-fatally shooting his ex-girlfriend and another man in Dearborn Heights, officials said.
Ashante Linelli-Ramon McAfee, 48, is facing two counts of assault with intent to murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of discharge in or at a building causing serious injury, one count of first-degree home invasion, one count of felon in possession of a firearm, one count of domestic violence and seven counts of felony firearm, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
The shooting happened at about 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 18, at a home in the 4100 block of Weddel Street.
When officers arrived, they found a 41-year-old Ecorse man down the street from the residence with a gunshot wound to his knee.
They also found a 39-year-old Dearborn Heights woman inside the bedroom of the home with gunshot wounds to the right thigh, left knee, chest and right hand.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital to be treated for their injuries.
McAfee allegedly went into his ex-girlfriend’s home and fired a rifle and a handgun at the victims before leaving the scene, according to the prosecutor’s office.
Dearborn Heights police arrested him later that same day.
