DEARBORN, Mich. – Griffin Claw Brewing Company collaborated with The Henry Ford in Dearborn to launch three craft beers inspired by Greenfield Village.
The three beers, Detroit Central Ale, Hostler’s Lager and Dew Drop Pilsner, are now available for purchase at Greenfield Village, which is an outdoor attraction that features historic homes, working farms, Model T rides and more!
“Born from a shared passion for history, innovation and storytelling, these new beers are a flavorful extension of the timeless Greenfield Village experience,” according to a release.
Here’s what to know about the flavor profiles of each and what iconic feature at Greenfield Village it was inspired by:
Detroit Central Ale (4.5% ABV)
Description: A smooth, medium-bodied British ale with notes of caramel, toffee and chocolate malt.
Inspiration: The beer was inspired by the Detroit Central Market, which was originally constructed in 1860 in Downtown Detroit’s Cadillac Square. It was fully reconstructed and is at Greenfield Village.
Hostler’s Lager (5.0% ABV)
Description: A crisp and refreshing lager
Inspiration: This lager pays homage to the railroad workers who keep locomotives running, including the Greenfield Village Railroad Team, which operates the only working late 19th-century roundhouse in the Midwest.
Dew Drop Pilsner (5.0% ABV)
Description: A clean, West Coast-style pilsner with bright citrus and pine notes balanced by a dry, refreshing finish.
Inspiration: This pilsner is inspired by the 19th-century baseball games that are played at Greenfield Village.
The partnership comes after the brewery and museum teamed up for a special holiday beer in 2024.
