CANTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A man is facing a murder charge after his girlfriend was found dead in Canton Township.
Sharon Germyn, 71, was found dead in a home in the 41000 block of Heathmore Court on March 6, 2025, after officers responded to a welfare check.
Investigators deemed the circumstances surrounding her death to be suspicious and began searching for her boyfriend, 56-year-old Mark Davis.
On March 7, 2025, Davis was found by authorities at an apartment in Ypsilanti. After executing a search warrant at the apartment, Davis was taken into custody on a parole detainer.
After weeks of detectives investigating the case, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office charged Davis on May 30, 2025, with second-degree murder. He also faces a habitual offender - fourth offense notice charge.
Davis was arraigned on June 11 in the 35th District Court and was remanded without bond.
He is expected to appear in court on June 20, 2025.
