FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. – A section of Halsted Road in Farmington Hills will be closed beginning Monday.

Beginning June 16, Halsted Road between 8 Mile and 9 Mile roads will be closed for the first two to three weeks of the project to complete drainage updates. According to city officials, the area will be closed to through traffic, but local traffic will be maintained southbound from 9 Mile.

After the drainage work is completed, the road closure will be shifted just north of St. Andrew Kim Korean Catholic Church for the remainder of the project. Halsted Road from the church to 9 Mile will be closed for this phase of the project. City officials said local access will be maintained northbound from 8 Mile to the church. Residents living off Halsted Road north of the church can access their neighborhoods from entrances on 9 Mile.

There will be a detour to direct drivers on the mile roads westbound to Haggerty Road and around the closure.
