Oakland County man charged with first-degree murder in fiancée’s stabbing death

Police said the man called 911 and reported that he had stabbed his fiancée

OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – Seth Thomas Martin, 25, from Oakland County, has been charged with premeditated first-degree murder in the death of his 33-year-old fiancée, Mallory Myers.

The incident occurred on Friday (June 13) at 3:41 p.m. when Waterford police responded to a home on Hackett Street.

Police said Martin called 911 and reported that he had stabbed Myers.

Officials said upon arrival, they encountered Martin as he exited the home, and he was taken into custody.

Police said they found Myers once they entered the home, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Martin was transported to Waterford Police Headquarters, booked, and then lodged at the Oakland County Jail.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, and the scene was processed with the assistance of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Martin was arraigned Monday afternoon in the 51st District Court, where bond was denied.

Martin is scheduled to appear in court for a probable cause hearing at 9:15 a.m. on Friday, June 27.
