More than 400 pounds of cocaine seized at Blue Water Bridge

Officers uncover 161 bricks during vehicle inspection

POINT EDWARD, Ontario – Authorities have stopped more than 400 pounds of cocaine from entering Canada from Port Huron.

According to authorities, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) referred a commercial truck entering from Michigan to a secondary examination on June 12. Using a dog, officers reportedly found 161 bricks of what they believed to be cocaine in the vehicle’s trailer.

The total weight of the bricks was 187 kg, roughly 412 pounds.

Karamveer Singh, a 27-year-old man from Ontario, was arrested and has since been charged with importing cocaine and possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking.
