According to authorities, an investigation began in January 2023 into a food stamp fraud scheme involving the illegal acquisition of EBT card data from 8,000 mostly California-based cardholders. The operation allegedly reproduced the cards in Michigan to make fraudulent purchases of energy drinks at Metro Detroit Sam’s Club stores.

Allos reportedly purchased the energy drinks below market value with the intent to resell them.

Authorities said the ring was responsible for buying and selling thousands of dollars worth of energy drinks.

Allos was charged in April and was bound over to stand trial in circuit court in May. His next court date is June 30.
