WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI -- When 7-year-old Mariah Galloway saw her great-grandmother get stuck under an SUV outside her home, she sprung into action and is now being called a hero for saving the 79-year-old. According to Fox 2 Detroit, Galloway was being dropped off at her home in West Bloomfield when her great-grandma thought the SUV was in park and got out of the vehicle. However, the SUV wasn’t in park and started to roll, trapping the woman underneath and forcing Galloway to think fast. Galloway’s mother, Porchia Lane, said there was a lot of blood on the scene, but emergency workers arrived quickly to treat the great-grandma. WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI -- A gift card scheme that totaled an estimated $9.2 million in fraudulent transactions has landed a pair of Michigan brothers in prison for up to four years. The brothers would buy gift cards for retailers such as Walmart or store-valued Visa and MasterCard gift cards from customers who obtained the gift cards illegally. For example, they would pay 60% of the value of a Kohl’s gift card. They would then turn around and sell the gift cards to online resellers for near close to the full value. The scheme operated from February 2016 through February 2018 and in that time, the brothers sold roughly $6.3 million worth of gift cards and processed $2.9 million worth of in store-valued card transactions.

Although he plays tackle at West Bloomfield, he is expected to move inside at the college level. The parents of a teenager wounded during a mass shooting at Oxford High School in Michigan are suing the shop that sold the handgun used to kill four students and injure six other people. The complaint filed Tuesday in federal court in Detroit on behalf of Matthew and Mary Mueller accuses Acme Shooting Goods LLC of negligently or unlawfully supplying the gun through a straw sale. Detroit cop accused of sexually assaulting minor over course of 7 years
WEST BLOOMFIELD, MI -- Michael Anthony Carson, a police officer with the Detroit Police Department, has been charged with two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct after he allegedly sexually assaulted a minor. According to Fox 2 Detroit, Carson, 59, was arraigned Wednesday in Oakland County on the charges stemming from an investigation into claims that he assaulted the minor. Fox 2 also reports the assaults took place over the course of seven years. During the arraignment, the judge set bond at $750,000 cash/surety and Carson is currently being held at the Oakland County Jail. The Detroit Police Department is aware of the case, but did not comment on the matter.
