ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – The Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s will tee off their 9th Annual Kirk Gibson Golf Classic in Rochester Hills.
The event, held in honor of the former Detroit Tigers World Series champion, will take place on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, at the Wyndgate Country Club.

Over the last eight years, the Kirk Gibson Golf Classic has raised over $1.7 million to support programs benefiting individuals living with Parkinson’s disease and their families.
Each year, Gibson is joined by celebrities and current and former athletes which have included Alan Trammell, Lance Parrish, Dave Rozema, Goose Gossage, Larry “The Cable Guy,” Michigan native and actor Martin Klebba, best known for his role as “Marty” in Pirates of the Caribbean series, and Michigan State Spartans head coach Tom Izzo, to name a few, who gather to help show their support.
The Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s was formed by former professional baseball player and manager Gibson after his diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease in 2015.
Gibson spent most of his career with the Tigers but also played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kansas City Royals, and Pittsburgh Pirates.
Gibson now dedicates his time to supporting his mission and vision of raising awareness for Parkinson’s and providing inspiration and hope to others living with the disease.
The mission of the Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinson’s is to enhance the quality of life for individuals living with Parkinson’s through the development and delivery of activity-based programs.
Through fundraising efforts, such as the Kirk Gibson Golf Classic, the foundation advances its mission of establishing a center for individuals living with Parkinson’s in Michigan.
The Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson’s Wellness will open this fall at 31440 Northwestern Highway in Farmington Hills.
The wellness center will be the first of its kind in Michigan, a world-class facility where individuals impacted by Parkinson’s can access a range of activity-based programs, all provided at no cost, with no insurance required.
The Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson’s Wellness will offer a series of free programs, many of which were developed by InMotion, a Cleveland-based leader in providing evidence-based programs tailored for people with Parkinson’s disease.
Movement matters in the fight against Parkinson’s, and through leveraging the InMotion ApproachTM, the Kirk Gibson Center will provide an integrated, holistic system of wellness programs designed to counteract the symptoms of the disease and improve the quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s disease in Michigan.
Offering approximately 70 hours of weekly programming with the initial capacity to provide 60,000 visitor hours per year, the center will ultimately serve as a model for collaborative coalitions in support of people living with Parkinson’s.
The Kirk Gibson Golf Classic has made a limited number of foursomes available for purchase for those who would like to attend, golf, and help support the foundation’s mission to improve the quality of life for those living with Parkinson’s in Michigan.
