CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A new location of a 100-year-old burger chain that’s particularly popular with drivers heading north in Michigan is coming to Metro Detroit.

Halo Burger is a common pit stop for travelers heading north from Metro Detroit through Mid-Michigan.

Now, a new location is coming to Clinton Township. According to Google Maps, Halo Burger will be at 41554 Garfield Road between Canal and 18 Mile roads.

In a recent Facebook post shared in a Clinton Township community group, Halo Burger asked, “Clinton Twp, are you ready?” It’s expected to open at the end of June.

This will be the sixth Halo Burger location in Michigan, joining four others in the Flint region and one in Birch Run.

At its peak, the chain operated over a dozen restaurants, including several in Oakland County.

Halo Burger has been serving Michiganders since 1923. It’s particularly known for their char-grilled patties topped with fresh-cut tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise. Emphasizing its Midwest heritage, the menu features a unique Flint coney made with Koegel hot dogs from Flint, along with Vernors soda (including the well-known Boston Cooler) and Wisconsin cheese curds. Recently, Halo Burger merged with Cops and Doughnuts, a beloved doughnut shop based in Clare, Michigan, and is now headquartered in Burton.
