DETROIT – Police search for answers after multiple people were shot, leaving one dead on Detroit’s east side.

The incident occurred on Friday (Feb. 27) in the 19400 block of Sherwood Street around 8:30 p.m.
Police said they responded to the 19400 block of Sherwood Street at about 8:30 p.m. after shots were reported near American Legion Post 375 and its event hall.
Police described the scene as active; details remain limited.
An earlier police summary said one person was killed, and another was injured in the shooting on the east side .
Officials have not released victims’ names, ages, sexes, or current conditions.
Police gave no information about suspects, motives, or whether any arrests were made.
The circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation.
