OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – The Michigan State Fair is back beginning in August and has more attractions to show this year, from acrobatic shows to a museum of marvels and returning events like the Friday Night Flights Beer Festival.

Where the fair will take place
The 2025 Michigan State Fair will take place at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi.
What’s new this year
The state fair will have new events happening this year including:
- BMX/FMX Dialed Action Performances – high-flying stunts that will leave you breathless
- Sea Lion Splash Animal Show – plenty of fun surprises for all ages
- Steamers Acrobatic Thrill Show – gravity-defying feats that will wow the whole family
- World of Wonders & Museum of Marvels – incredible acts and nostalgic strolls
Fair dates, hours this year
Here are the dates and hours the fair will be open to the public:
- Thursday, Aug. 28: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Friday, Aug. 29: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Saturday, Aug. 30: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 31: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Monday, Sept. 1: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (Interior Livestock Halls close at 5 p.m.)
*The box office closes one hour before closing time. No entry permitted after 7 p.m.
Ticket prices
- Ultimate Admission: $42.00 (includes fair entry, unlimited carnival rides, and BMX/FMX shows)
- Fair Admission Only: $10.00 (does not include carnival rides or BMX/FMX shows)
- Children 2 and under: FREE for fair admission only; rides require purchase of individual tickets or Ultimate Admission
- Bring three canned goods to the gate and receive $5 off a full-price Ultimate Admission Ticket ($42). Offer valid on Ultimate Admission only.
Guests under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian to enter the Michigan State Fair.

Enhanced parking options are available on a first-come, first-served basis at no charge.
Featured events happening at the fair
Friday Night Flights Beer Festival
Returning on Aug. 29, Friday Night Flights Beer Festival begins at 4 p.m. People can enjoy samples from some of the best local breweries for $20.
Moovin’ thru the Midway 5K
The Moovin’ thru the Midway 5K presented by Wells Fargo and benefiting Military Families United will be held on Aug. 30 at 8 a.m.
Packet pick-up is from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. prior to the start of the race on Aug. 20.
Every in-person participant receives:

Live music
All weekend, the Michigan State Fair will have live music at the Entertainment Pavilion, featuring local talent and the State Fair Superstar Collection.

Charity preview
On the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 27, the state fair will hold an exclusive invite-only Charity Preview. The event offers exclusive access to active military, veterans and people with disabilities. Guests attending the Charity Preview can enjoy the fair in a more relaxed, less crowded setting.
