MONROE COUNTY, Mich. – Two teens staying at a nearby hotel are suspected to be involved in the late-night break-in at a Monroe County dispensary.
The incident occurred on Sunday (July 6) just before midnight, when Monroe County Central Dispatch received a call regarding an alarm activation in the 14500 block of Laplaisance Rd in Monroe Township.

Police said the location is an outlet mall housing several recreational marijuana dispensaries.
Officials said sheriff’s deputies quickly arrived on the scene to discover a fresh break-in.
Police said a subsequent investigation allowed deputies to identify the two suspects as a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy.
Officials said both juveniles are Monroe County residents and were staying with an adult family member at a nearby hotel when the incident occurred.
Police said the 17-year-old was lodged at the Monroe County Youth Center, while the 16-year-old was released to his mother.
Officials said the 16-year-old did not qualify for arrest based on recent state-mandated guidelines.
Police said charges against both suspects were forwarded to the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office.
Officials said the case remains under investigation by Deputy Austin Graham of the Uniformed Services Division.
