Fourth teen suspect involved in fatal Pontiac shooting surrenders to police

$2,000 reward offered for information

PONTIAC, Mich. – The fourth teen, who was wanted in connection with the Pontiac shooting that killed a teen and critically injured another, has turned himself in.

Police said a 16-year-old Pontiac youth turned himself into the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Pontiac substation on Wednesday (July 9) at 6 p.m., about two hours after the third suspect was arrested in Pontiac.

Officials said the teen was accompanied by his mother. Both suspects were taken to Oakland County Children’s Village.

Detectives are expected to present the case to prosecutors either on Thursday or Friday.

The third suspect, a 17-year-old boy, was arrested about 4 p.m. in Pontiac by DFAT, which includes U.S. Marshals, a member of the Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Team, and the Directed Patrol Unit.

Two teens were taken into custody on Tuesday shortly after the shooting. They were to appear in Juvenile Court at Oakland County Children’s Village.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, around 7:45 p.m. near West South Boulevard and Highland Avenue in Pontiac.

The second shooting victim, a 19-year-old Pontiac man, was taken to the hospital by a citizen.

He was taken into surgery and is expected to survive.

Deputies identified a third victim, who was not injured. The incident remains under investigation.
