Pontiac shooting kills teen, critically injures another

$2,000 reward offered for information

PONTIAC, Mich. – Authorities are investigating a shooting in Pontiac that killed a teen and critically injured another.

It happened Tuesday, July 8, at about 8 p.m. near the intersection of South Boulevard West and Highland Avenue, just west of Woodward Avenue.

First responders arrived and found an 18-year-old man who was unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to a hospital, where he died from his injuries.

A 19-year-old man who was also shot was taken to a hospital for surgery. He is expected to survive.

Two people have been taken into custody -- a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office has identified two others they are looking for.

The investigation is ongoing. A $2,000 reward has been offered for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
