LAKE HURON, Mich. – A 52-year-old man was pulled from Lake Huron by a helicopter after his 16-foot sailboat capsized.
It happened Sunday, July 13, at about 5:30 p.m.

According to authorities, U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Detroit received a call from someone who was on a boat that overturned near Port Huron. They reported that another person was with them when the boat capsized.
The Coast Guard dispatched a helicopter to search the area over Lake Huron. Rescuers found the man swimming near Lexington, waving his arms for help.
He was lifted from the water by the helicopter and taken to Saint Clair County Airport, where emergency medical services took over.
Officials said the man is expected to be OK.
“This is what we train for,” said Lt. Christian Toscano. “And we are glad we got to bring the survivor home safely.”
