TROY, Mich. – Oakland Mall is closed after several main concourses and parts of the parking lot flooded on Wednesday.

The mall, which is located at 412 W. 14 Mile Road in Troy, closed early Wednesday afternoon due to the flooding.

“Earlier this afternoon, Oakland Mall experienced what we believe to be a burst pipe, resulting in flooding across several main concourses and portions of the parking lot,” according to a Facebook post from the mall. “In response, the decision was made to close the mall for the safety and security of our tenants and guests.”

The mall said they are working with police and fire departments, along with “industry experts,” to address the issue.

“We appreciate the community’s patience and understanding as we work to resolve the issue,” mall officials said. “We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.”
