Playing in a key OAA White road matchup against Bloomfield Hills, Penoza simply wanted to play his role as best he could to help the team win. In the end, Penoza ended up playing the role of hero as he made all three of his field goals in the final 3:20 of the game to help lift Troy to a 58-52 win over Bloomfield Hills. He also did that while also playing spirited defense against Bloomfield Hills’ top player, Noah Adamczyk.

Around 6:14 p.m. Thursday, Troy police officers were called to Elias Diamonds at the Oakland Mall for a reported burglary, WDIV Local 4 reports. Five people entered the store wearing masks and hoods, police said. One of the suspects used a hammer to smash the glass countertops of each showcase while the others stuffed merchandise into backpacks. The suspects fled in a GMC Yukon parked on the south side of the mall before officers arrived.

ROCHESTER HILLS, MI -- An 85-year-old Troy woman was killed Tuesday night due to injuries she suffered in a three-car crash at the intersection of Adams and Auburn roads. According to WDIV-Detroit, Mary Howe was traveling northbound on Adams Road in a 2020 Chevrolet Impala and was attempting to turn left onto Auburn Road. The Jeep then smashed into a 2016 Chevrolet Cruze that was on Auburn Road waiting to turn. Rochester Hills firefighters were able to transport Howe to a nearby hospital, but she later died as a result of her injuries. The driver of the Jeep was treated for minor injuries and the other driver refused treatment.

TROY, MI – Police are investigating a shooting at an apartment complex in Troy. According to the Troy Police Department, officers responded to The Gables of Troy Apartments, 700 Lamplighter, at 9:52 p.m. on Thursday. A preliminary investigation revealed that there were two groups of males involved in the altercation, which occurred in the parking lot of the apartment complex. Man broke into Troy restaurant through roof to steal liquor, drove off with infant in vehicle, police say
TROY, MI – Multiple people were arrested after a man broke into a Michigan restaurant through its roof, stole up to $30,000 of alcohol and drove off with an infant in the vehicle. The 24-year-old is accused of climbing the restaurant’s ventilation system to reach the roof, forcing multiple doors open and stealing several boxes of alcohol, police said. The driver of the vehicle, the 24-year-old, was found to not have a driver’s license and was placed under arrest, according to police. Officers located a crowbar and approximately eight new packaged liquor bottles in the backseat of the vehicle, police said. The vehicle was also occupied by the front-seat passenger’s infant child, who was released to a family member, police said.

According to the Troy Police Department, officers were called to Capitol Wine and Liquor in the 6000 block of Rochester Road around 5:38 p.m. on March 29 for a reported robbery. Police interviewed an employee at the store who said a young man approached the counter and demanded she “empty the register.” The young man did not produce a weapon, but kept his hand in the pocket of his hooded sweatshirt. The employee complied and handed the money over to the suspect who then fled on foot. The teen eventually admitted to police that he’d robbed the store earlier in the day.

They tell police he blocked them in and ran around their car with the hatchet and even hit the passenger side window causing damage. On June 19, 2018, Troy’s zoning board denied Adam’s application. ANN ARBOR, MI - Upgrades continue to be made to an Ann Arbor Public Schools high school theater and auditorium where mold was discovered last summer, with another $1.36 million in improvements up for approval. The AAPS School Board will vote on upgrades to Pioneer High School’s Schreiber Auditorium and Little Theater on Wednesday, March 23, with new audio, video and stage lighting systems among the recommended improvements. As part of the restoration of the two spaces, an assessment was conducted of the audio-visual and stage lighting systems. Other upgrades include new wireless microphones, new projectors, a streaming interface box, and a complete replacement of the theatrical lighting system, AAPS Executive Director for Capital Projects Emile Lauzzana said. The district completed the mitigation of mold found in both theaters after testing the area to make sure operations at the high school could continue in December 2021.
