Vote now: What should we name the new houndshark at the Auburn Hills aquarium?

SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium getting fully grown houndshark

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – A houndshark is coming to the aquarium in Auburn Hills for the first time, and you get to help name it!

Last year, Local 4 viewers got to help name the giant guitarfish, Dolly, at the SEA LIFE Michigan Aquarium. And what better time than Shark Week to decide on a name for Metro Detroit’s latest aquatic resident?

This houndshark is fully grown. He’s a rescue and likely at least 5 years old.

We asked for your name suggestions, and you came through! Thanks for all the fabulous dog, shark, and hound puns. We chose the best ones and put them in the poll below. Please vote for your favorite!

Voting will be open from 8 a.m. July 21 through noon July 24. We’ll announce the winning name at 8 a.m. Friday on Local 4 Live.
