DETROIT – A Detroit man, who is a registered sex offender, was convicted of sex trafficking two minors and an adult after a seven-day trial, U.S. Attorney Jerome F. Gorgan announced.
Kevin Lavon Giles, 59, was found guilty of two counts of sex trafficking children through fraud, force or coercion, one count of sex trafficking an adult through force, fraud or coercion and one count of committing a felony against a minor after having been required to register as a sex offender.

Officials said that Giles was required to register as a sex offender in connection with a 1986 criminal sexual conduct conviction.
Giles exploited his victims by making them perform commercial sex acts in engage for shelter for them and their kids, according to testimony from the trial.
Two of the victims were under 18 at the time they were being trafficked by Giles.
Officials say that Giles had advertised the commercial sex services online, arranged the sex dates and collected funds.
“Giles used hidden cameras to monitor the sex acts of all his victims and to direct the sex acts of the adult victim,” according to witness testimony revealed in court.
He faces at least 25 years in prison and up to life, officials said.
