Macomb County man accused of drugging, sexually assaulting woman, possibly others

Police say man took photos of woman without her permission

FORT GRATIOT TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A Macomb County man is accused of drugging, sexually assaulting, and taking photos of a woman without her permission, and police believe he might have targeted others.

Deputies with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office were called to an apartment complex in Fort Gratiot Township on Saturday night, July 19, 2025.

A woman had arrived at her neighbor’s home disoriented. She said she had been drugged and sexually assaulted, according to police.

Deputies said they later learned that photos had been taken of the woman without her permission.

They spoke to Charles Fouts, Jr., 67, of Lenox Township, and took him into custody without incident. He and the woman recently met on a dating app, they said.

The woman was taken to McLaren Port Huron for treatment.

While police were investigating, they said they discovered that there might be more victims in this case.

Fouts is facing three felony charges -- first-degree criminal sexual conduct, capturing/distributing an image of an unclothed person, and using a computer to commit a crime.

He is being held without bond. More charges are possible,
